The Silent Scream

SOHINI ROY B.Ed
1 ST SEM (2024-2026)

A solitary soul, she wandered alone
Through life's desolate landscape, never finding home

A father's love, a distant dream
Left her heart, a hollowed-out scheme
She felt trapped, like a foot in a tight boot
Unable to raise her voice, her emotions mute
But words, oh words, they set her free
A refuge from pain, a world to see
Her writings, a protest, a voice unheard
A cry in the darkness, a soul stirred
But then, she fell, deeply and hard
For a man, unworthy, with a loving heart
She forgot to write, forgot to breathe
Forgot the love she sought, the love she'd need
She tried, she failed, she tried once more
But he, a cheat, a liar, left her poor

Her heart, a flame, that flickered out
Her love, a garden, withered, without a doubt
She forgot to love, forgot to live
Forgot the words, that once, her soul did give
And on a fine night, with a determined stride,
She placed her head, inside the oven's divide,
Baked her heart, cooked her revenge, so well,
A final, bold, and dramatic farewell.
